Stars Dazzle at The Meeting Premiere

The highly anticipated world premiere of The Meeting, a MORD Pictures production for The Audrey Silva Company co-produced by Mildred Okwo and Rita Dominic brought the stars out in a well-attended premiere held at the Oriental Hotel on Friday night.

The Oriental conference hall transformed into a sophisticated and stylish theatre by Elizabeth R played host to the glitterati of Nigerian cinema, entertainment and fashion as well as government officials, dignitaries, leading business people and journalists.

Following a star-studded photo call, the host Basorge Tariah kicked off the evening which saw the introduction to special guests and dignitaries including Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke, Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Florence Ita Giwa, Princess Abah Folawiyo as well as the cast, presidential speech by Mrs. Madueke on behalf of His Excellency President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, a welcome speeches by National President of the Association of Movie Producers and by Mildred Okwo.

With anticipation building up well into the evening, it was time for celebrated Nigerian songbirds Waje and Lami to serenade the audience before the opening credits rolled up on the big screen and the audience were captured for the next two hours and laughter promised by Mildred Okwo rang across the room countless times.

As the final credits rolled, it was time for the cast and crew to take a bow in front of the audience which boasted noted Nollywood stars Joke Silva and Genevieve Nnaji, model/presenter Eku Edewor, artists Tuface Idibia, Tiwa Savage, Weird MC as the co-chairman of The Audrey Silva Company Rita Dominic delivered a vote of thanks and bid the attendants a safe journey home whilst remembering the victims of flood disasters in different parts of the country.

While the show had to go on for the world premiere on Friday night despite a last-minute hard drive crash which meant that the crew were up into the early hours of Friday morning working on back-up footage, in a bid to ensure the best quality to audiences nationwide, the general release date initially set as 19 October has now been postponed to a later date.
